Dear Doctor,

We are the Peninsula Deanery team currently looking at Peninsula-wide primary care workforce planning.

Current national primary care workforce data and recommendations are based purely on the static GP workforce (i.e. ‘Salaried GPs and GP partners’). They take no account of the 20% of GPs who, at any one time are working as GP locums*.

To help us lead the way in changing this, we would be extremely grateful if you could spend a few minutes (5 minutes maximum!) on the following survey.

GPlocum Survey

We have designed this survey to give us both valuable information on the GP locum workforce and also to allow us to explore particular issues for GP locums and to identify where and how improvements might be made.

We will use information from survey (and a corresponding one for practice managers) to inform and and guide decisions about education, training and CPD needs in the Southwest. This survey is designed to ensure the particular (and often forgotten) needs of GP locums are considered and valued. Ultimately this will enable us to provide intelligent and responsive support for your ongoing career and working life.
